Bree Jones, 32, of Bellefontaine, was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug abuse instruments shortly after 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, after she was observed loitering around the McDonald’s parking lot at 1127 N. Main St.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to that location on a report of a female, later identified as the defendant, loitering in the parking lot. Restaurant employees reported to police that Jones had been outside in the parking lot for a while and appeared to be intoxicated.

When they arrived, police found Jones sitting outside and appeared to be nodding off. She was holding a plastic bag containing a container of fuel injector fluid that was leaking onto the ground. She told police she’d just walked from Dollar General, was tired and had been waiting for her mother-in-law to come and pick her up.

When she stood up, a metal straw reportedly fell from her person. Jones admitted to police she’d consumed fentanyl earlier in the day and an empty rolled ball of foil also was found in her possession. A second metal straw and additional suspected fentanyl were recovered from her at the scene.

She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
