The Rotary Club of Bellefontaine celebrated academic excellence across Logan County Monday evening, March 9, during its 49th Annual Honors Night at Bellefontaine High School.

More than 260 graduating seniors from Logan County high schools were recognized during the ceremony for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through seven semesters of high school coursework, including the first semester of the 2025–26 school year.

Students honored represented Indian Lake High School, Bellefontaine High School, Benjamin Logan High School, Riverside High School, Calvary Christian School, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center and West Liberty-Salem High School.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of eight Rotary scholarships, each valued at $1,000. The recipients were selected from 84 applicants, representing one of the largest scholarship applicant pools in the club’s history. The winners will also be recognized during their respective schools’ Senior Awards Nights later this spring.

Nicholson challenged students to consider a fourth option — entrepreneurship — emphasizing the opportunities available to create businesses, innovate and lead within their communities.

Current Rotary leadership includes Board President Ted Dennis, President-Elect Nita Wilkinson, Vice President Becky Hoffman, Secretary Tammy Gump, Treasurer Bill Boy, and Immediate Past President Andrea Merrin.

The annual program continues the club’s long-standing tradition of recognizing the academic achievement, leadership and dedication of Logan County students.
