Logan County high school seniors will participate in Signing Day at their respective schools as they make their commitment to Employ, Enlist or Enroll after graduation starting Monday, April 24 through Monday, May 1.
Signing Day is part of the local 3E Initiative, that asks students across the county “What’s Your E?”
Through the work of the Logan County Collaborative and its members, annual events have been established to help students explore opportunities to prepare them to choose their “E”, while in school and after graduation. The initiative instills in students that there is no singular path every person must take. Each E pathway is to be equally considered and will be equally honored in Logan County.
The initiative also seeks to let students know they are wanted and needed in Logan County after graduation – whether that be immediately after high school, after further education, or following active-duty in the military.
Signing Day is the culminating event of the 3E calendar where the community recognizes and celebrates all students and their chosen path after graduation — employment, enlistment, or enrollment. Annually, area schools collaborate to create a unified Signing Week to celebrate the success of the seniors in our county.
The schedule for Signing Week is:
• Monday, April 24 — 9 a.m., Ohio Hi Point Career Center.
• Wednesday, April 26 – 10 a.m., Bellefontaine High School.
• Friday, April 28 – 8 a.m., Indian Lake High School.
• Monday, May 1 – 9 a.m., Riverside Local High School.
• Monday, May 1 — 2:30 p.m., Benjamin Logan High School.
In addition to school administrators, Signing Day guest speakers this year include: Justin Dinovo, president, Citizens Federal Savings & Loan; Karen Gerrard, training coordinator, AGC Automotive Americas Co. Alison Marker, president and CEO, Marker Inc.; Brett Roubinek, president and CEO, Transportation Research Center; Kim Comer, president and co-owner of Comer Insurance Agency, Inc.; and Ben Vollrath, president, Logan County Chamber of Commerce.
The Logan County Collaborative was formed in 2015 to help bridge the gap between education and industry. Made up of local business, industry, government, and educators from in and around Logan County, the primary goal of the collaborative is to provide a well-trained and prepared workforce to fill the needs of area employers for many years to come.
If you are interested in getting involved with the collaborative, contact the Logan County Chamber of Commerce at (937) 599-5121.
