Bellefontaine Intermediate student Baya Deal, age 10, checks out her pirate-themed piece that she created with oil pastels, marker and crayons in the Logan County Art and Music Festival Sunday afternoon, April 16, hosted by the Holland Theatre for the first time. Baya’s mother said she was impressed by all of the student creativity at the LoCo Art and theater sponsored show, which spanned the entire weekend, beginning Friday evening with a performance by the All-County Honors Choir. Approximately 150 pieces of artwork from talented students in grades K-12 from Benjamin Logan, Bellefontaine, Indian Lake and Riverside schools was on display Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. “We weren’t quite sure what to expect with the new format for the show this year, but it turned out wonderfully,” said LoCo Art Co-Director Jennifer Davis. “The concert Friday kicked everything off with a great performance, and then families were able to stop by throughout the weekend to enjoy the artwork together. We had a steady stream of guests at the Holland Theatre. We’re looking forward to growing the show next year.” (EXAMINER PHOTO | MANDY LOEHR)
