LeRoy Allen Watkins, 71, died Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born in Sidney on May 12, 1951, to the late Allen Coleman and Eva (Cupps) Watkins.

LeRoy was also preceded in death by his brother Roger Watkins Sr. as well as the love his life, Mary Esther (Ward) Watkins, who he married on November 23, 1977.

LeRoy is survived by two children: Judith (Steven) Westlake of Bellefontaine and Robert (Stephanie) Watkins of Bradenton, Florida; five grandchildren: Lizzy and Seth, David (Stephanie) VanHoose of North Lewisburg, Derek VanHoose of Marysville, and Tiffany VanHoose of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Phyllis Bell of DeGraff and Barb Smith of Quincy; ten great-grandchildren and three nephews.

LeRoy was a graduate of Riverside High School. He worked at Stolle Corporation in Sidney. The last few years of his life he followed his dream and became a truck driver.

A memorial service for LeRoy Allen will be conducted, Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the DeGraff Baptist Church, 9343 Sidney Street, DeGraff, OH 43318 where Pastor John Shelton will lead a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
