Larry “Bear” G. Franks, 83, of Urbana, OH passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Madison Health in London, OH.
He was born on August 28, 1941, in Urbana, Ohio to the late Merle J. and Wilma J. (Trick) Franks.
Bear was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bear is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bonnie J. (Bzoza) Franks; three daughters, Tessca (Ryan) Hites, Tiger Franks and Trayc (Bill) Petty; two sons, Travis (Kim) Franks and Terk Franks; 26 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tonya Franks and Tammy Elkins; one sister, Judy Franks; one brother, Rick Franks and a granddog, Peanut.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Grace Baptist Church, 960 Children’s Home Rd., Urbana, OH.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 starting at 12 PM in the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Samples officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of the funeral home during this time of need.
