A change in administration is coming to the village of Lakeview.
Mayor Ryan Shoffstall announced during a recent regular village council meeting that he does not intend to seek another term in office. His current term expires at the end of this year.
Shoffstall has been the mayor for the last 20 years, totaling five terms that began in 2003.
In other council business, Jesse Kean was approved as a new firefighter in the village fire department.
Fire chief Norm Spring is also looking into obtaining new locks and security systems for the fire department.
Council members are w
orking with the Ohio Department of Transportation on a speed limit reduction through portions of the village limits, and that request from ODOT was in its final stages.
Lastly, council members were told that 30.51 tons of refuse were cleared during the villagewide clean up day.
