Lakers sweep home meet

Indian Lake’s boys track and field teams swept a home meet with Ada and Upper Scioto Valley on Tuesday.

The Lady Lakers dominated their meet with 120 points. Ada was second with 19 points and USV was third with two points.

Indian Lake’s boys team recorded 71 points, with Ada taking second (50) and USV third (27).

For the IL girls, Elayna Richardson, Ashlynn Biederman and Meadow McCullough took the top three spots in the 200. KaiLea Miller, Hannah Metzger and Eva Carney did the same in the 1,600 and Reece Martin, Gillian Taylor and Cambria Tuttle swept the top three spots in the 100 hurdles.

Addison Beck, Ava Faler and McCullough finished in the top three positions in the high jump, while Faler, Ava Huffman and Marah Reames went 1-2-3 in the long jump.
Stephanie Altstaetter, Grace Pequignot and Regan Ross claimed the top three spots in the shot put and discus.

Also for the Lakers, Evie Wagner and Maggie Reese took first and second in the 3,200 and Richardson and Beck were first and second in the 100.

Finishing first and third were Cameron Finfrock and Andi Miller in the 400, KaiLea Miller and Metzger in the 800 and Reece Martin and Tuttle in the 300 hurdles.

Ava Faler also won the pole vault.

Winning relays for the Lakers were the 3,200 relay of Reagan Rash, Makayla Motter, Evie Wagner and Maggie Reese, the 400 relay of Beck, Richardson, Huffman and Martin and the 800 relay of Beck, Huffman, Finfrock and Richardson.

Adding a second-place finish for the Lady Lakers was the 1,600 relay of Finfrock, Ashlynn Biederman, Augusta Biederman and Tuttle.

Highlighting the meet for the Laker boys was the high jump, where Isaac Morrison, Caiden Gauntt and Gavin Henry swept the top three spots.

Brody Parsell and Ryan Culp placed first and second in the pole vault, Morrison and Gauntt were first and third in the long jump, Brant Parsell was first in the 300 hurdles and Gavin Henry was third in the 300 hurdles.

Quest Clay and Draden Stevenson were second and third in the 100 and Jacob Freyhof and Drake Crosby were second and third in the 200.

Evin Parker placed second in the 400, Brant Parsell was second in the 110 hurdles, Grant McPherson was first in the 1,600 and third in the 800, Titus Kelly was third in the 3,200 and Christopher Timms was third in the discus.

Getting relay wins for the Lakers were the 400 relay of Gauntt, Morrison, Stevenson and Quest Clay and the 800 relay of Gauntt, Morrison, Stevenson and Parsell.

Adding second-place finishes were the 1,600 relay of McPherson, Cummins, Vince Wilson and Health Wilson and the 3,200 relay of Tony Cummins, McPherson, Vince Wilson and Heath Wilson.

Indian Lake will be back in action Friday at Piqua.

WL-S boys win meet

West Liberty Salem’s boys track and field team won a four-team meet at home on Monday.

The Tigers had 131 points, Anna was second with 111, Ft. Loramie finished third with 94 and Houston was fourth with eight points.

Winning events for the Tigers were Logan Phillips in the 110 hurdles (16.10) and 300 hurdles (43.48), Owen Harrison in the 1,600 (4:44.71), Jack Bahan in the 200 (24.65), Dylan Glunt in the long jump (18-8), Mark Bair in the shot put (39-5.50) and the 400 relay team of Gabe McGill, Bahan, Jackson Steider and Glunt (45.83).

Taking second for the Tigers were Steider in the 110 hurdles (16.47), 300 hurdles (45.02) and long jump (17-10.25), Glunt in the 100 (11.86), Quentin Rudolph in the 1,600 (4:45.23), Micah Smith in the 400 (56.62), Craig Stanford in the pole vault (9-0) and the 1,600 relay of Troy Bradley, Joey LaRoche, Lincoln Henderson and Clay McAuley (3:56.34).

Adding third-place finishes for WL-S were Bahan in the 100 (11.89), Asher Knox in the 1,600m (4:45.25), Gabe McGill in the 200 (25.07), Hunter Knotts in the high jump (5-2),
Taryn Bradley in the pole vault (8-0) and the 800 relay of Smith, Taryn Bradley, Lincoln Henderson and Phillips (1:40.34).

The Tigers will compete in the Versailles Invitational on Saturday.
