Although Indian Lake was unable to clinch the outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division baseball title Tuesday, the Lakers will still be able to hang a league banner.

The Lakers fell to visiting Urbana 3-1, forcing Indian Lake to settle for a share of the CBC Mad River title with Graham.

Both Indian Lake and Graham finished with 10-6 records in the CBC.

The Lakers are now 15-8 overall. Urbana improves to 12-11, 9-7.

Urbana struck early Tuesday, getting a pair of runs in the first inning for a 2-0 lead.

The Lakers picked up one run in the second frame to make it 2-1.

Indian Lake was unable to generate anymore offense the rest of the way.

Urbana added a run in the third for a 3-1 advantage.

The Lakers out-hit the Hillclimbers 7-3, but Indian Lake was unable to come through with timely hits.

Burke Lillard had a double, Chase Baldwin and Landon Wisener each had two hits and Rece Kimmel had an RBI for the Lakers’ offense.

Gavin Lones was tagged with the loss on the mound for the Lakers, but he did not allow an earned run. He gave up just three hits and struck out 11 while walking three.

The Lakers are back in action Friday at home against Miami East.
