Indian Lake’s bats stayed hot Tuesday as the Lakers pounded out 15 hits in a 10-3 victory over Bellefontaine in Central Buckeye Conference softball action.
The Lakers are now 17-1 overall and 11-1 in the CBC. The Chiefs fall to 8-9, 4-7.
Indian Lake jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings.
Bellefontaine put a pair of runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth to get within one at 3-2.
However, the Lakers responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-2 lead.
Indian Lake continued to stretch out its lead with a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to make it 10-2.
Bellefontaine managed one more run in the top of the seventh.
Madison Brentlinger went 4-4 with two RBI to help fuel the Indian Lake hitting attack.
Also for the Lakers, Haylee Edwards went 2-4, Halle Roby went 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Katie Roby went 2-3 with two RBI, Porscha Davis had a double, Hannah Marlow had a double, Kayleigh Zedlitz went 2-3 with an RBI and Abigail Elliott added an RBI.
Brentlinger went the distance in the pitching circle to record the win. She scattered six hits, allowed one earned run, struck out seven and walked two.
For the Chiefs, Emma Crabtree went 2-3, Addison Wical had a double and Ellie Mitchell and Kassi Prine both had triples.
Both teams are back on the diamond today. The Lakers host Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine plays at London.
