Lakers can’t get offense on track in loss to Braves

Indian Lake’s boys basketball team was playing a short handed Tuesday against host Springfield Shawnee and the Lakers did not have the firepower to stick with the Braves.

The Lakers, who were without standout junior guard Caiden Nicol because of an illness, had just eight made baskets in a 56-21 loss to the Braves in a Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.

The Lakers drop to 7-9 on the season. Shawnee improves to 11-5.

Indian Lake fell behind 14-8 after the first quarter and the Lakers trailed by 15 points (25-10) at halftime.

Shawnee pushed its lead to 26 points (41-15) after three periods.

Camdon Tuttle led the Lakers with nine points.

Zion Crowe powered Shawnee with a game-high 24 points.

In the junior varsity game, Indian Lake was edged 45-44. Tyson Ramirez and Madden Lillard each scored 13 points for the Lakers.

Indian Lake is back in action Friday at home against Northwestern.
