KETTERING — The postseason path for the Benjamin Logan girls basketball team came to an end Tuesday night, Feb. 24, as host Archbishop Alter High School claimed a 63–28 victory in tournament play.
For the second consecutive season, Alter eliminated the Lady Raiders, using a decisive second-quarter surge to separate themselves after a competitive opening stretch in their Division IV, Southwest Region 2, Region 16 tournament game.
The game was tightly contested early, with the teams deadlocked 6–6 midway through the first quarter. Alter began to seize momentum late in the period, closing on a 6–0 run to take control.
That edge quickly grew in the second quarter, where the Knights overwhelmed Benjamin Logan with a 16-0 scoring run to build a commanding halftime lead, 25-7. Alter’s depth and perimeter shooting proved to be the difference.
The Lady Knights buried eight three-pointers and showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup. Izzia Arcuri led the way with 12 points, while Alina Overman added nine and Sarah Brand chipped in eight. In all, ten Alter players found the scoring column.
Benjamin Logan continued to compete in what was a physical contest, battling through the second half with determination. Kylie Harner paced the Lady Raiders with seven points, and Adilynne Gregg contributed six.
While the tournament run came to a close, the season reflected progress for Benjamin Logan. The Lady Raiders finished 13–11, an marked improvement from four wins a year ago, signaling continued development within the program.
