A fast start Saturday propelled Indian Lake’s girls basketball team to a runaway 53-22 victory over visiting Graham in a Central Buckeye Conference contest.
Indian Lake improves to 6-10 overall, and 2-5 in the CBC. Graham drops to 4-11, 0-6.
The Lakers raced out to a fast start and did not look back. Indian Lake led 12-4 after the first quarter, and quickly ballooned the lead to double-digits in the second quarter.
On the strength of a 16-6 advantage in the second quarter, Indian Lake took a 28-10 lead into halftime.
The third quarter was more of the same as the Lakers remained consistent on both end of the floor, outscoring the visitors 15-6 in the third quarter to take a commanding 43-16 lead into the final quarter.
The Lakers cruised in the fourth quarter, outscoring Graham 10-6 in the fourth to finish off the Falcons.
Stephanie Altstaetter led all scorers with 21 points, and Allison Kinney added 19 to help pace the victory for Indian Lake.
The Lakers JV team defeated Graham by the exact same 53-22 score. Carly Strayer led the Lakers with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Kennedy Schwaderer had 12 points and Harly Kinninger scored 10 points in the win.
The Lakers return to the hardwood Wednesday when they travel to Northwestern.
