Lady Lakers quiet Cougars

Indian Lake’s girls basketball team overpowered host Kenton Ridge for a 48-11 win on Wednesday.

The Lakers are now 1-2 on the season, while the Cougars drop to 1-3.

Indian Lake jumped out to a 10-3 lead after the first quarter and outscored the the Cougars 11-0 in the second quarter to lead 21-3 at halftime.

Indian Lake stretched its lead to 38-6 after three quarters. Haylee Edwards and Savannah Hill each had 12 points to lead the Lakers. Edwards also had eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

Alex Kinney and Kennedy Schwaderer scored six points each and Katie Roby chipped in five points for the Lakers.

There was no junior varsity game. The Lakers are back in action next Wednesday at home against Jonathan Alder.
