Bellefontaine’s softball team rolled past visiting Lima Shawnee 14-7 on Tuesday in a non-league game.
The Chiefs are now 1-1 on the season.
Bellefontaine led 5-0 after three innings.
Shawnee scored a run in the top of the fourth before the Chiefs added three more in the bottom of the frame to make it 8-1.
Shawnee put up six runs in the top of the fifth to get within one at 8-7.
However, the Chiefs answered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and tacked on two more in the sixth to put the game away.
Averie Vigansky earned the win in the circle for the Chiefs. She recorded 10 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Chiefs pounded out 13 hits.
Ellie Mitchell went 2-4 with a double, Kassi Prine went 2-4, Alexza Clifton went 2-3 with three RBI, Addison Wical went 3-4 with two doubles, Airianna Young went 2-3 with a double and triple and Emma Crabtree added a double.
The Chiefs are back in action Friday at Northwestern.

Raiders jolt Versailles
Benjamin Logan’s softball team cruised past Versailles 15-1 on Tuesday in a non-league game.
Kyah Moore earned the win in the pitching circle. She allowed two hits and struck out one in four innings, while Chloe Crumm added two strikeouts in one inning of work.
Kenzie Roseburrough went 3-4 with a home run and four RBI to power the Raiders’ offense.
Also for Ben Logan, Elliott Bailey went 2-2 with a triple and three RBI, Rhea Harner went 3-5 with two RBI, Brooks Myers went 3-4 with a double and an RBI and Jillian Plikerd went 2-2 with two RBI.
The Raiders are back in action Friday at New Bremen.

Lakers thump New Bremen
Indian Lake’s softball team opened the season with a 17-5 win over New Bremen on Monday.
Madison Brentlinger went 4 2/3 innings to get the win. She allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out five.
Halle Roby went 2-4 with four RBI to spark the Lakers at the plate.
Also for Indian Lake, Brentlinger had a triple, Porscha Davis went 2-4, Mackenzie Dixon had two RBI, Haylee Edwards went 2-3, Abigail Elliott had two RBI and Hannah Marlow had two RBI.
Pirates slip to Ansonia
Riverside was plagued by four errors in a 7-6 loss at Ansonia on Tuesday.
The Pirates are now 1-1 on the season.
Riverside took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but Ansonia scored twice in the third inning to tie the score.
The Pirates plated three runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead.
Ansonia scored a pair of runs in the sixth to make the score 5-4.
Riverside added a run in the top of the seventh inning to lead 6-4, but the hosts scored three times in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the win.
Jade Copas went 2-4 with a double and RBI to spark the Pirates. Riley Dillon went 2-4 with a double, Jaidyn Jackson went 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Avery Perk and Alaina Snow each added a double.
Snow struck out eight and allowed just one earned run in the pitching circle for the Pirates.
The Pirates return to action Thursday at Northridge.
