To be eligible for kindergarten in 2023-24 school year, children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2023:
• Bellefontaine — Kindergarten screening, May 22-25; call Bellefontaine Elementary office at (937) 599-4331 for a screening appointment; preschool screening (for ages 3-5), March 13, 14, call Keri Fergus at the office for an appointment.
• Benjamin Logan — Kindergarten screening, Wednesday, April 26; Thursday, April 27; and Friday, April 28; if you have a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten, call the elementary school at (937) 592-4838 to schedule a screening appointment.
• Indian Lake — Kindergarten registration/screening takes place at Indian Lake Elementary School on March 22 (8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), March 23 (8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4-7 p.m.) and March 24 (8 a.m. to noon); call the Indian Lake Elementary School at 686-READ (7323) to schedule a time for your student; complete the kindergarten registration form athttps://www.ils-k12.org/laker_news/kindergarten_registration and return it to ILES by Feb. 2.
• Riverside — Kindergarten registration, March 23 and 24; take the following documents with you the day of registration: birth certificate, Social Security Card, medical/shot record, custody papers (if applicable), and proof of residence; call the elementary office at (937) 585-5891 ext. 4310 to set up an appointment time for your child; preschool registration, 4 to 6 p.m. March 1, and 9 a.m. to noon March 8, no appointment necessary on those days, must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 1 and potty trained; take the following documents: birth certificate, parent driver’s license, Social Security card, medical/shot record, custody papers (if applicable) and proof of residence; use the County Road 24 driveway, park in the lot at the north end of the building; direct questions to Erica Heitkamp at (937) 585-5981 ext: 4050.
• West Liberty-Salem — Kindergarten screening appointments, Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16; parents planning to send their child to kindergarten during the 2023-2024 school year will find information and online registration on the homepage of www.wlstigers.org, or can call or stop by the elementary office.
