Kenneth “Kenny” Peter, of East Liberty, was born into this world on December 24, 1926, to the late George and Lillie Peter and departed on February 14, 2023, at the grand age of 96.

On June 20, 1946, Kenny married the late Francis Hussey of Zanesfield. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Robert, Dwight, Willard, Vaughn, Edna, Alta, and Bertha; and a nephew, George Forsythe

Kenny is survived by a daughter, Jenneth (Chuck) Boudrow; granddaughter, Kim (Mike) Fields; great-granddaughter, Michaela (Jonah) Hardman; great-great-grandson, Salem; niece, Norma Jean Votow; and three nephews: Earl Peters, Tom Forsythe, and Robert Hussey.

As the only boy in the 1944 graduating class of Middleburg High School, Kenny was noted as being the “brightest boy in the graduating class”. Shortly thereafter he entered the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in the Philippines. He worked at A.J. Miller Company as an upholsterer and is pictured in that company’s exhibit in the Logan County Historical Society. He then went to work at Navistar from which he retired. Kenny was a member of the East Liberty Church of Christ.

A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Middleburg Cemetery.
