Kennaw leads Ben Logan past Eaton

Senior Hayden Kennaw threw a gem on the mound to lead 12th-seeded Benjamin Logan to a 3-1 upset victory over fifth-seeded Eaton in a Division II sectional baseball game Tuesday in Eaton.

The Raiders (8-13) will play at ninth-seeded Bellefontaine in a sectional semifinal Thursday.

Ben Logan scored two runs in the second inning too lead 2-0.

Eaton scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth.

Ben Logan added an insurance run in the seventh.

Kennaw fired a two-hitter for the Raiders. He struck out four.

Trey Miracle went 3-4 to lead Ben Logan’s offense. Hunter Peterson and Ian Scheiderer each had an RBI.

Pirates get league win over TC

Riverside’s baseball team beat host Troy Christian 7-3 in a Three Rivers Conference game Tuesday.

Riverside is now 10-13 overall and 7-5 in the TRC. The Eagles fall to 10-10, 7-7.
Troy Christian led 1-0 after one inning.

The Pirates scored four times in the fifth and added three runs in the six to take a 7-1 lead.

The Eagles scored once in the bottom of the sixth and once in the bottom of the seventh.

Landon Purtee went the distance on the mound to get the win for the Pirates. He allowed only three hits.

Gavin Orsborne went 2-3 with an RBI and Simon Godwin and Andrew Knight both had two RBI to lead Riverside’s offense.

Riverside returns to tournament action today as it will play at Newton in a Division IV sectional contest.
