Karen Sue Wilson

Karen Sue Wilson, 81, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Ayden Healthcare, Bellefontaine, OH. She was surrounded by family.

Karen was born on June 10, 1943, in Bellefontaine, OH, a daughter of the late Herbert “Bill” and Relda Thomas Campbell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Argabright and a brother, Gary “Clyde” Campbell.

Karen is survived by her son, Grant (Shedrick “Shed” Siler) Wilson of Columbus, OH, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Indian Lake High School and held many jobs in her lifetime, from being a waitress at the San Juan Ball Room to working in housekeeping and factory work. But her most rewarding career was working for the Indian Lake School’s cafeterias and seeing all the kids, retiring in 2006. She took great pride in making sure that the kids got the best possible lunch.

She enjoyed flowers and small craft projects with her nephew Bill, and most importantly, being a wonderful mom, aunt, neighbor and friend. She loved animals and there was never a point in her life when she didn’t have a dog or cat. She was a lifetime animal advocate through her dedication to animal welfare charities.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, OH, with Reverend Bryan Meadows providing a memorial service at 5 p.m., followed by a lighthearted celebration tribute from family and friends. A private interment will be at a later date at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire, OH.

Memorial Contributions may be given in Karen’s memory to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, OH. Condolences may be shared at www.shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
