Here is a roundup of recent junior high action in the area:

BASKETBALL

Indian Lake loses to Urbana

The Indian Lake eighth grade girls lost to Urbana 58-16 Thursday. Laura Metzger scored 10 points, Claire Tidwell had four and Makayle Clary added two. Tidwell also had seven rebounds and three steals.

Urbana won the seventh grade game 20-15. Addison Headings had eight points, Abby Bihn had four and Samantha Altstaetter added three. Headings had nine rebounds and Jones got six. Headings and Bihn each made six steals.

Calvary Christian girls win

The Calvary Christian junior high girls basketball team defeated Shekinah Christian 14-9 on Thursday.

Destiney Mathys and Caroline Moore had four points each, and Madelyn Carter, Karis Willets and Eden LeCrone had two apiece. Avery Rogers had six rebounds and four steals.

WL-S 8th grade wins

The West Liberty-Salem eighth grade boys topped Greeneview 46-30 on Thursday.

Brandel Sullivan had 26 points. Grant Krabill got six, Nate Shively four, Carter Pratt and Rylan Leichty three each, and Tyler Hershberger and Isaiah Barth two apiece.

Tigers 7th grade girls win

West Liberty-Salem seventh grade girls won 21-16 over Greeneview Thursday. Scoring for WL-S: Bella Johnson 8, Avery Brown 4, Lilly Yeater 3, Avery Randall 3, and Rylee Falloon 3.

Chiefs, Raiders girls split

Bellefontaine defeated Ben Logan in eighth grade girls play 28-21 on Thursday.

For Bellefontaine, Mia Brown had 11 points and Lexey Brown had 10. Cameo Greene had four and Paxton Stewart three. Mia Brown had eight rebounds and three steals. Lexey Brown had 10 rebounds and two steals. Allie Meyers, Leila Hammond and Annie Clem contributed minutes.

Ben Logan won the seventh grade game 25-11. Kennedy Hairston had four points and six rebounds.

Raiders, Chiefs boys split

Ben Logan’s eighth grade team defeated Bellefontaine 39-26. Zavion Perez had 19 points for the Chieftains.

For Ben Logan, Micah Gregg had 20 points, Carrick Spriggs added 12. Gabe Predmore had four, Brantley Karn three, Karson McCoy, Ashe Moorehouse and Colton Little helped on defense. Predmore had seven rebounds, four assists and six steals. Gregg had five rebounds and Spriggs made four steals.

Bellefontaine won the seventh grade contest 42-20. Tops for the Chiefs were Sennett Stolly with 14, Will Jenkins with 11 and Colson Garver with seven points. For the Raiders, Baikyr Roberts had eight, Preston Mikes 5, Luke Long 3, and Nevada Coleman and Zayden Wilson two each.

Ben Logan takes part in quad meet

The Benjamin Logan middle school wrestlers got two wins in a quad meet at Eversole Middle School on Wednesday.

The Raiders defeated Olentangy Berkshire 64-12 and won over Olentangy Orange 68-18.

Getting two wins Cayde Buck (80 pounds), Liam Brown (80), Owen Marshall (86), Makenly Harner (98), Wyatt Miller (104), Ethan Tynan (110), Ryan Miller (116), Sebastian Stokes (128), Rhett Newman (142), Eli Carpenter (150), Konnor Barns (160), Emerson Carpenter (172), Madden Palmer (205), and William Bingham (heavyweight).

Kaleb Linkenhoker (92), Will Case (104), Zander McElroy (142) and Joel Phillips (142) had one win each.
