Julia Mandilla (Kauffman) Bolen passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in the home of her loving and devoted son, Kevin Kauffman whom survives, this is also the home she was born in to Earl and Florence Mandilla (Wysong) McClain on March 2, 1927.
She was a high school graduate – Salem class of 1946.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Richard Bolen; son, Brent (Sherry) Kauffman; parents; special aunt, Mary Waterman; sister, Dorothy (Jack G) Miller.
Surviving along with her son Kevin are his two children, Jason Kauffman of West Liberty and Kimberly (Joshua Riley) Kauffman of Marysville and Brent’s two stepchildren, Rhonda Douglas and Angela Channel of Xenia; nephews, Johnny, Chris, Ted; nieces, Terry, Becky, Susan, Penny; brother, Richard “Bud” Earl (Barbara) McClain and stepchildren, Robert, Ann, Linda and Teresa; as well as close family friend, Polly (Mike) Bean of Urbana.
Julia enjoyed playing cards and baking. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church where she was the first to serve on the District UMW.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 16, in Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana.
Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Inurnment will be Thursday, June 22, at 10 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
