John Robert Fay, 80, of Rushsylvania, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Carson and Marie (Myers) Fay.

Surviving are his wife Cheryl of 63 years, 3 daughters; Tamra Potts, Pamela (Dave) Stewart, Melony (John) Coy,17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Ann Morris, Linda (Ron) James and a brother, Larry Fay.

He was preceded in death by 1 sister; Joyce (Barnie) Ohler, 1 brother; Fred (Connie) Fay, 2 granddaughters, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 niece, 4 nephews and 2 sons-in-law.

During his lifetime, he owned and operated an excavating business and was a member of Hardin County Mounted Posse for 30 years. He was a Certified Deputy for the Hardin County Sheriff’s office for more than 20 years and also owned and operated a Grade A Farm for 12 years.

John coached T-Ball for the Bad News Bears but of all the things he had done over his life, caring for his family always came first.

Friends and family may visit on Monday, July 24, from 3 to 7 p.m. at The Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
Funeral services for John Robert Fay will be private. Burial will take place at Rushsylvania Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s honor may be made to Universal Hospice.
