John Richard Wilgus, 75, passed away on December 21, 2024, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on November 27, 1949, in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Donald W. and Donna Mae (Norris) Wilgus. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Sandy Meyer, Patricia Wilgus, Byron Wilgus, Chuck Wilgus, Donald “Phil” Wilgus, David Wilgus, and James Wilgus.
On November 27, 1999, he married Laura (Craig) Wilgus, and she survives in Bellefontaine.
Along with his loving wife Laura, he also leaves behind two sons: Jeremy (Lori) Kuhn of Wapakoneta and Aaron (Jennifer) Kuhn of Dayton; grandchildren: Christian, Carson, and Alana; sister, Becky Wilgus; and many nieces and nephews.
A 1968 graduate of Logan Hills High School, John went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Following his time in the service, he became owner and operator of Wilgus Automotive Machine. He had a love for working on cars and engines. John was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed gardening. His pride of joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
There will be a visitation for John at Christ Our King Church, 1325 Co Rd 9, Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311 on January 4, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m.
