Jeanne R. Zerkle, 104, of Urbana passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, in Vancrest of Urbana.
She was born December 14, 1918 in South Charleston, Ohio the daughter of Henry A. and Florence I. (Brinsley) Ross.
Jeanne received her Teaching Degree at Wittenberg University. Jeanne was a charter member of Grace Chapel West Liberty and attended Urbana United Methodist Church since 1994. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bridge. She cherished the special times that were spent with family.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Katya) Zerkle, Richard (Jeanette) Zerkle; daughter, Dianne (Ron) Coder; grandchildren, Tracey Nordahl, Scott (Shannon) Zerkle, Christie (Chad) Springer, Erinn (Troy)Dersom, Tera (Justin) Guy, Brian (Chris) Coder, Tiffany (Roger) Hamilton; great grandchildren, Taylor, Delaney and McKenzie Guy, Caylie and Cody Springer, Ashleigh and Jacob Dersom, Isaac, Solomon and Brinsley Zerkle, Amber (Chris) Falloon, Brad (Veronica) Coder, Sydney and Sophia Hamilton; 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard Zerkle; brother, William Ross; sisters, Dorothy Baumann and Betsy Thompson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 22, in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana; where funeral service will take place at noon with Pastor Chris Dinnell officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the WhereHouse, 110 W Church St, Urbana, Ohio.
