James Steven “Steve” Truesdale, 52, of Bellefontaine passed away at home Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Steve was born August 21, 1971 in Bellefontaine to the late James S. and Betty J. (Emmons) Truesdale.

Steve recently attended First Friends Church with John, Lori and Barb. He enjoyed traveling anywhere and taking pictures of landscape and animals. He was always there to help out no matter what the job or task was. Steve loved spending time with his family and friends, going out to dinner and had never missed a family function. Steve was the most thoughtful person about giving gifts for the people that he loved. He was a very humble and positive person throughout his life, even when battling cancer he never felt like he was owed anything. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.

He is survived by his siblings, Tamra Weber, Charles “Chuck” (Delia) Truesdale, Pat (Bob) Core, Barbara Vollrath, John (Lori) Truesdale and Sue (Jeff) Harmon; 12 nephews and 6 nieces; aunt, Dixie Slayback; sister in law, Margaret Truesdale; friends that were like family, Bob McClain and Kristy McClain; and his NEX Bulk family; his loving furry friend, Brody.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Truesdale; brothers-in-law, Dwight Vollrath and Donald Weber; family friend, Mona McClain; he is also preceded in death by Jack and Shirley Core who were like grandparents to him.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Truesdale family farm, 2216 Township Road 198, Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Burial of ashes will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
