James “Root Beer Jim” W. Roberts, 64, of Russells Point, OH passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department, Bellefontaine, OH.
James was born on September 24, 1959, in Lima, OH, a son of the late Harold Eugene and Roma Wood Roberts.
Jim is survived by his life companion, Rebecca Meyer, his son, Jason (Amber) Roberts of Bellefontaine, his daughter, Kasondra Postle of Wapakoneta, OH, five grandchildren, Rylen, Reid and Preslie Roberts, Hayden and Liam Postle, and three siblings, Georgia Smith of Elida, OH, Harold (Mindy) Roberts of Harrod, OH, and Darla Roberts of Lima.
Root Beer Jim, affectionately called by those who knew him was hard working and took pride in his work. He was a 1977 graduate of Indian Lake High School and was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533. Jim owned and operated Stewarts Root Beer Stands in Lima and at Indian Lake for over 30 years. He also formerly owned The Ark Restaurant. Jim enjoyed playing racquetball and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be conducted at a later date.
