James ‘Jim’ A. Kirkpatrick

James “Jim” Arthur Kirkpatrick, 85, of Lakeview, OH passed away December 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his daughters after a brief illness.

Jim was born on March 20, 1939, to the late Arthur R. and Ramona K. (Reese) Kirkpatrick in Springfield, OH. His family later moved to Marysville, OH, where he graduated from Leesburg-Magnetic School in 1958.  Jim lived in Irwin and Marysville areas until his love for fishing drew him to move to Lakeview in 1998.

Jim started his working career at McMahon Meat Packing in Marysville until 1966 when he became employed as a paint tinter at PPG Industries in Delaware, OH. He worked at PPG Industries for 34.5 years until his retirement in 2001.

Jim was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He watched every game they played when he had access to their games. Jim loved fishing, golfing, and boating with his family at Indian Lake. He enjoyed woodworking, watching NASCAR, western movies, especially John Wayne movies, and taking his grandchildren rides in the golfcart.  He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-children and loved spending time with them whenever he could.

Jim is survived by his children, Cindy (Don) McCreary of Marysville, Randy (Manky) Kirkpatrick of Biloxi, MS, Vicki (Jerry) Riggs of Hillsboro, MO, and Christina (Jim) Krabacher of Cincinnati, OH; ten grandchildren, Grant McCreary, Justin (Megan) McCreary, Eric (Kayla) McCreary, Melissa (Randy) Baugh, Heather (James) Alverson, Brendon (Jessica) Riggs, Audrey (Dan Bort) Riggs, Matthew (Michelle) Krabacher, Jocelyn Krabacher, and Ethan Krabacher;15 great grandchildren, Graden McCreary, Jaidra McCreary, Addison McCreary, Kinleigh McCreary, Rawson Baugh, Shaelynn Baugh, Ranger Baugh, Ryker Baugh, Palmer Alverson, Molina Riggs, Clois Riggs, Mason Krabacher, Natalie Krabacher, Logan Krabacher, and Noah Krabacher; close friend, former spouse, and mother of his children, Shirley Kirkpatrick of Marysville; a sister, Linda Pitts of Mt. Victory, OH; sister-in-law, Marlene Kirkpatrick of Marysville, and several nieces and nephews. Jim loved his lifetime at Indian Lake and the great companionship of his close friends, Billy Pool, Margaret Morbitzer, Mark and Robin Schroeder, Scott and Renee Fronk, Carol Argabright, Karen and Wes Fambrough, Frank and Ruth Smith, and Helen Nichols.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Bob” (Ann) Kirkpatrick; brother, Thomas “Tom” Kirkpatrick; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica McCreary.

In honoring Jim’s wishes, no public services will be held.
