J. LaVaughn Renkert, 86, of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at 5:48 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 7, 1937, a daughter of the late John Wendell DeLong and Willmina (Vaughn) DeLong.

LaVaughn is survived by her three daughters, Bev Renkert, Janet (Keith) Prickett, and Cindy (Bill) Nichols; seven grandchildren, Kyle Prickett, Derek (Lindsey) Prickett, Alyssa (Kyle) Ehresmann, Cierra (fiancé Garrett Kestner) Rhoads, Brody Rhoads, Wyatt Nichols, and Wade Nichols; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dalton, Brynlee, Ariana, and Carter; and a sister, Judy Wilkinson.

LaVaughn had worked at Westinghouse, CTS, and Siemens. She loved horses, roller skating, sports, and most especially spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. Pastor Michael Mitchell will officiate a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at the funeral home. Per LaVaughn’s wishes, her body will be cremated following services. Inurnment will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in LaVaughn’s memory, to Interim Hospice, 3745 Shawnee Road, Suite 108 and 109, Lima, Ohio 45806 or Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff, 1839 County Road 24 S., DeGraff, Ohio.
