Terry Collis, 46, of Kettering, was charged with public intoxication after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched around 3 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, to Mary Rutan Hospital on a report of male unable to take care of himself.
Upon their arrival, officers were told by nursing staff that a male, later identified as Collis, had been transported to the hospital by squad and appeared and was heavily impaired.
Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect’s wife, but were not successful.
Hospital staff were ready to release Collis, but he was unable to care for himself. He was lodged in Logan County Jail for his own safety.
