Indian Lake’s balanced attack overwhelms Chieftains

Indian Lake outscored host Bellefontaine 38-19 in the second half to run away for a 72-40 victory in a Logan County boys basketball matchup Tuesday night.

The Lakers stay perfect on the season at 5-0. Bellefontaine drops to 1-3.

Indian Lake held a seven-point cushion (16-9) after the first quarter. The Lakers pushed their lead to 13 points (34-21) at halftime.

Indian Lake continued to put distance between itself and Bellefontaine in the second half. The Lakers built a 24-point advantage (56-32) by the end of the third period.

Indian Lake had three players score in double figures and two others score eight
points. Caiden Nicol poured in a game-high 25 points to pace the Lakers. Camdon Tuttle had 16 points, Dawson Finfrock scored 10 points and Brodey Reisinger and Avery Pequignot each had eight points.

C.J. Wilson led the Chieftains with 20 points. Jair Mundy had six points and Riley Neer scored five points.

In the junior varsity game, Indian Lake
won 70-68. Cooper Hall had 20 points for the Lakers and Jamison Clement scored 21 for Bellefontaine.

Bellefontaine’s freshman team played Versailles and lost 59-45.

Both teams are back in action Friday. The Chiefs host Jonathan Alder and the Lakers
are at home against Benjamin Logan.
