Indian Lake Board of Education members hired a new treasurer to lead the district’s financial future during action taken during their Wednesday, Feb. 19, meeting.

Brady Hipsher accepted the position of district assistant treasurer. He will begin work April 1 under the direction of long-time Indian Lake Treasurer Coleen Reprogle to learn the particulars of the district.

Hipsher will then take over as district treasurer once Reprogle officially retires at the end of July. He was extended a three-year contract that begins Aug. 1.

The 2019 Upper Scioto Valley graduate said he is excited to become a Laker and he knows he has big shoes to fill.

“I really think that Indian Lake is a great community. They come together when they need to and I really appreciate everything they stand for.

“I’m really looking forward to learning from somebody (Reprogle) who is a seasoned veteran. I look to learn from her and, hopefully, provide the same financial outcomes in the future.”

Hipsher earned his finance degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio in 2022. Since then he has served as the assistant treasurer at the Auglaize County ESC and currently Bath Local Schools.

During the public participation portion of the meeting, the parents of an ILHS student presented information regarding possible bullying. The board plans to investigate.

Finally, members voted to accept the proposed calendar for the 2025-26 school year that was chosen by a popular vote of staff.
