Win number nine was fine with the Lakers.

Indian Lake went down the road Tuesday and collected a 3-0 win over rival Benjamin Logan in Central Buckeye Conference volleyball on Tuesday.

All three sets were closely contested, but the Lakers came out on top 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20.

They improve to 3-0 in the CBC and lead the Mad River division. They are 9-1 overall.

Indian Lake coach Missy Mefford said, “Our girls played hard. They served aggressively. They played on the net. They never gave up, even when we got down a few points here or there. It’s just a true testament to these girls and their desire to win. They do not like to lose. They push every point.”

She added that “Beating Ben Logan is always a big win. That’s always a big win no matter where we are in the season.”

For the Lady Raiders, Abby Vance had 10 kills, Summer Cline had nine and Georgia Daniels had seven. Kylie Harner got 12 assists.

Ben Logan coach Jackie Cline said, “I think we were hoping for a little bit more of a fight on our side. We had more errors than expected, but we’re gonna watch film, and we are going to continue to learn and hopefully fix those, so that the next time we meet them at their place, it’s going to be a little bit tougher battle.”

She added, “We’re going to focus more on digging and serve-receive and trying to eliminate some of those errors.”

Indian Lake took control at the start of the match, winning eight of the first 10 points in the opening set. After a Raiders timeout, the Lakers continued to build their advantage, winning a couple at a time and going ahead 14-5.

Ben Logan won three points, but the Lakers answered with three for their side. The Raiders then got four straight, including a kill by Daniels and an ace by Cline, cutting it down to 17-12.

Three points for the Lakers led to the second Ben Logan timeout. The Raiders won five out of seven, finishing the run with consecutive aces by Annika Chappell. After a point for the Lakers, the Raiders won three to make it 23-20.

Indian Lake then closed it out, with a center line violation by the Raiders ending the set.

Set number two started with a 5-0 run, most of them on serves by Rapp. Ben Logan then took control with a couple small runs, and then a six-point burst with Cline doing the serving. That put the Raiders ahead 12-7.

Indian Lake won the next to regain service, and Roby served them up a five-point run to regain the lead.

Ben Logan pushed back, getting contributions from various sources to get in front by two, 18-16.

A kill by Miller was followed by her serving three rallies that the Lakers won.

After a timeout, Ben Logan scored twice to tie it at 20. One for the Lakers was followed by two for the Raiders and Indian Lake calling time.

The Lakers then nailed down the win with four straight points.

The start of the third set was back and forth before three in a row for the Lakers put them up 7-5.

Ben Logan got kills by Daniels and Storm LeVan, then Lakers answered with a couple by Bailey, and a tap at the net to lead 10-7.

It stayed close over the next stretch, although Indian Lake maintained its lead.

Serves by Miller and kills by Courtney Altstaetter and Bailey, then one that was hit long by Ben Logan gave the Lakers a 17-12 advantage.

The Raiders then found a few points at a time, and a kill by Abby Vance tied it at 19.

After trading points, Indian Lake won to regain serve. Kinney, a sophomore, stepped to the service line. The first rally was won on an error by the Raiders. Kinney then had back-to-back aces, and a final kill by the Lakers closed out the night.
