The Indian Lake Eagles Aerie #3615 recently presented the United Way of Logan County with a check for $21,046.50 to support the Indian Lake Tornado Relief Fund.

The amount represents proceeds from multiple benefit concerts and events the fraternal organization hostsed throughout the spring and summer, headlined by a performance from Nashville-based recording artist Leah Crose April 5 that cleared $11,000.

Eagles leadership credited Gianna England, secretary of the Eagles Auxillary, with spearheading that effort.

The United Way reports that money donated since June to the Indian Lake Tornado Relief Fund is being used by the Logan County Emergency Management Agency for long-term recovery efforts.

As of Aug. 9, a total of 83 affected families are still being served by the long-term recovery committee, which meets weekly to discuss each individual case and applies financial support as needed.
