Indian Lake’s boys basketball team has received the second seed for the Division III sectional tournament.
The tournament brackets were released after draw meetings Sunday. The Lakers, who are currently 16-4, will open Division III North 3 sectional action at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, against 19th-seeded Greenon at Butler High School.
Indian Lake has a good path to the district final as there is not another team seeded better than 11th in its sectional bracket.
Also in Division III, West Liberty-Salem received the sixth seed. The Tigers are in the North 2 bracket and will play 10th-seeded Waynesville at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Northmont High School.
For the Division II sectional tournament, Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan are both in the North 3 bracket.
The 22nd-seeded Raiders are tasked with taking on fourth-seeded Trotwood-Madison at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Springfield High School. Following Ben Logan’s game on Feb. 22, 17th-seeded Bellefontaine plays 20th seeded Bethel at 8 p.m.
The Ben Logan Trotwood winner will play the Bethel-Bellefontaine winner in the second round.
The Logan County-area will have three squads competing in the Division IV sectional.
Riverside, the 13th seed, plays 11th-seeded Newton at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Troy High School.
Calvary Christian is the 20th seed. The Spartans battle fourth seeded Botkins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in Troy.
The Calvary-Botkins winner will then meet 22nd-seeded Triad in the second round Wednesday, Feb. 28.
