Indian Lake boys extend win streak to seven

Indian Lake made it seven in a row with a 61-56 win over host London in Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball play Monday night.

The Lakers are 7-1 in CBC play and 12-6 overall. They are in first place in the Mad River division. Shawnee and North Union are both 6-2.

Brodey Reisinger finished with 27 points, and Avery Pequignot had 16 for the Lakers. Tyler Tidwell added nine.

The Lakers were up by one, 11-10, after the first, with London edging ahead 28-27 at the break.

The Red Raiders outscored Indian Lake by five in the third to go up 49-43. But Indian Lake got 18 in the final frame, and held London to just seven.

London won the junior varsity game 57-24. Brady Golliday had nine points for the Lakers.

Indian Lake is back in action on Friday when they will host Benjamin Logan.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Raiders edged by Trotwood Madison

Benjamin Logan lost 49-48 to host Trotwood Madison Monday in non conference play.

The Raiders had trailed by double digits in the third quarter, but came back to lead 48-46 with nine seconds to go. The Rams then banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer.

Daylin Varner had 16 points, Kyle Harner 13, and Lahna Cook nine for Ben Logan.

There was no junior varsity game.

Ben Logan (1-8 CBC, 4-16) plays its regular season contest Wednesday at Indian Lake.

WRESTLING

Tigers defeat Northeastern

West Liberty-Salem defeated Northeastern in an Ohio Heritage Conference dual match recently.

Tim Krabill (175) won by fall in 36 seconds over Christopher Mendoza.

Lucas Merriman (126) used 3:02 before getting a pin of Taylor Huffman.

At 144, Kyler Langhardt won 17-2 for a tech fall against Ethan Cooley.

At 157, Robert Park of the Tigers lost a 9-6 decision in overtime.

Silas Krabill (165) got a pin in 3:09 against Caleb Wells.

Maverick Reames (215) lost by pin in 2:45 to Brock Gillam.

Northeastern was unopposed at 190 and 285.

Winning by forfeit for the Tigers were Wyatt Shoemaker (106), Zayden Shafer (113), Madden Kilgore (120), and Lance Saylor (132).

There was no match at 138 or 150.

West Liberty-Salem will be in action Wednesday at Mechanicsburg.
