A pair of Indian Lake High School young men will represent the district at Buckeye Boys State this month at Miami University.

Czar Dickson, son of Ryan and Beth Dickson of Lakeview, and Jayden Martin, son of Bob and Tracey Lowery will attend June 9-16.

Buckeye Boys’ State is sponsored by the Huntsville American Legion Post 381.

Participants must meet several qualifications. Candidates must be juniors in high school, interested in government and current events and have an above average scholastic standing.  The young men must also demonstrate high moral character, possess strong leadership skills and have a desire for learning.

The purpose of Buckeye Boys’ State is to provide a hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Ohio government.  At Buckeye Boys’ State, young men learn about city, county and state government through a non-partisan objective education approach.
