Lacey Mitchell, 39, of Upper Sandusky, was charged with possession of a controlled substance around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the Super 8 motel, 1117 N. Main St., on a report of suspected drug activity.
Contact was made with Mitchell and another individual, who told officers that Mitchell was having an anxiety attack and may need to go to the hospital.
Signs of drug use were observed and Mitchell demonstrated paranoid behavior in her interactions with police, telling them she believed she was being followed.
She also told police she was looking for her car keys and dumped the contents of her purse onto the ground to try and find them.
Among the contents in her purse, officers found a plastic baggy containing a white powder substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Mitchell was arrested without incident and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
