Homecoming kicks off this week at Benjamin Logan Schools, and the high school has announced its homecoming court and festivities.

Court members include: senior queen candidates Celeste Allen, Mylee Boysel, Mya Burrey, Kyndal Cronkleton, Madelyn Harmon and Lauren Hemmelgarn; senior king candidates are Evan Carpenter, Ben Chamberlain, Michael Dilbone, Hayden Godwin, Seth Jones and Graham Studebaker; junior attendants Landon Stoodt and Lahna Cook; sophomore attendants Gus Bibart and Miley Buettner; and freshman attendants Cooper Buck and Elliott Butler.

Benjamin Logan High School spirit days this week include: Monday — Lazy day at the beach (pajamas); Tuesday — Surf or Turf (surfer vs. cowboy); Wednesday — Teen beach movie; Thursday — Yacht Club (dress to impress) (HS school picture day); Friday — Hidden treasure (black and gold).

Friday, Sept. 29, celebrations will take place across the district such as pep rallies and powderpuff football.

To gear up for the parade the Homecoming court, cheerleaders, and band members should arrive at 5:30 p.m. in the elementary parking lot. Floats should line up at 5:30 p.m. At 6:15 p.m. the parade path to the soccer field begins. Participants walk around the track holding their banners that will later be displayed on the fence under the scoreboard.

Selected teachers will hand flowers to the court members and the king and queen will be crowned just before the 7 p.m. kick-off on the new turf field.

The occasion marks the tradition of a performance by the BLHS Alumni Band Night.

They will be performing “Take on Me” and “Carry on My Wayward Son.” Retired Band Director Mike Suman leads the alumni band that evening.

The Homecoming Dance is slated for 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in the BLHS Commons. Homecoming tickets are available to purchase from the box office online. No tickets will be sold at the door. No cash sales.
