Logan Fischer, 33, of Lakeview, was lodged in the Logan County Jail following an hours-long standoff Sunday, May 28, at his residence with multiple law enforcement agencies including deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Gage Larrick, 22, of Rosewood, was also taken into custody following the incident that began at Acheson’s Resort and concluded at Fischer’s 156 N. Oak St., Lakeview, residence.

Deputies were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to Acheson’s on a report of an assault involving a knife.

Upon their arrival they met with two male victims who reported that Fischer was confrontational and threatening towards them during an exchange of words inside the bar and had “sucker punched” one of the men in the parking lot as the victims were trying to leave. As the other male victim sought to intervene, Fischer reportedly pulled out a knife and cut the other man on the cheek, leaving him blooded and requiring treatment from Indian Lake EMS.

Larrick was with Fischer during the assault, but was not violent. He fled the scene with Fischer driving.

Medics treated the male victim for his injuries at the scene, but did not have to transport him to the hospital. The men did not know Fischer’s name or specific address, but could identify where he lived. The victims directed deputies to the Oak Street address and when they arrived Fischer was observed outside on a porch, before fleeing back inside the house.

For over three hours, law enforcement directed Fischer and Larrick to exit the residence, but it wasn’t until after 7:45 p.m. that the men exited the house and were apprehended without incident.
However, as he was being transported to the jail, Fischer reportedly attempted to hang himself with his seat belt. The deputy transporting Fischer had to stop the vehicle, and unwrap the seat belt.

A Marysville/Union County Special Response Team assisted at the scene.
Fischer has an extensive criminal history including a felony burglary charge in 2007, misdemeanor assault in July of 2013, criminal trespass in May of 2022, aggravated menacing in September of 2022, and domestic violence in December of 2022.
He had threatened to shoot law enforcement on multiple occasions, and has also threatened previously to die by “suicide by cop.”

During the stand-off neighboring residents were notified and asked to evacuate their homes.
