George Arthur Wells Sr. of Quincy, Ohio, died on May 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. 

Born on January 26, 1943 at his family home in Waynesfield, Ohio to James Lloyd and Ruby Wells (preceded in death). 

He was married to Catherine E (Gross) Wells (preceded in death) for 55 years.

He was the loving father of Fred (Kelly) Wells of Sidney, Ohio, Christina Wells of Calabasas, California, and George Wells JR of Lewisville, Ohio. He was the Grandfather to Jessica (Derek) Stitzel of Sidney, Ohio, Travis Wells of Marysville, Ohio, Lane (Bailey) Wells stationed in the Air Force Tacoma Washington, and Christopher Lovell of Calabasas, California. He was the Great Grandfather of Rhilynn, Deamon, Adler, Sloan Stitzel of Sidney.  He was the loving brother of James Wells, Robert Wells, Nancy (Wells) Kaufman, Peggy (Wells) Franklin, (all preceded in death). Betty (Wells) Music of Lima, Ohio, Carol Bailey of Waynesfield, Ohio, Clyde Wells of Montra, Ohio, and Dorothy Shepherd of Clearwater, Florida. George was also the Uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

George was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served from July of 1965 to August of 1966. He was a member of the Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion. 

George started driving Semi Trucks at the age of 16 and continue this career when we returned home from his military service. He drove Semi Trucks for many different companies in his 40 plus year career. During his truck driving days he was able to drive all over the United States and even parts of Canada. Driving semi-trucks all over the country was his passion and to his family and friends he was by far the Best Truck Driver ever. He said the best part of his job was getting to see the U.S. and meeting so many people. George spent many times telling about his stories from over the road to his family and friends. Talking about his stories was by far his favorite pastime to his final days. 

George was a 4-H Advisor of Mac-O-Chee Mustangs for 30 plus years. He dedicated those years alongside of his wife Cathy teaching his children, grandchildren, and many youth of Logan County about animal care and becoming the leaders of tomorrow. He taught his children to reach for their dreams but to always be happy in all they do in their life. 

Private services will be conducted. The family request that in lieu of flowers or cards, please consider making a donation to a Veterans Association of your choice or Hospice Care in his name.
