Gas station customer charged with OVI

BellefontainePolice Patch-200Jason Price, 48, of Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after he was observed to be unsteady on his feet while getting gasoline at the Marathon gas station, 200 E. Sandusky Ave.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department received a call around 10 p.m. Sunday, March 5, that Price was reportedly unsteady on his feet and showed signs of intoxication after parking his vehicle at a pump at the gas station.

Police arrived on scene and report knowing Price has a history of abusing alcohol. He was three previous drunk driving convictions, most recently in 2019. After speaking with the suspect officers found him to be impaired and conducted field sobriety tests.

His vehicle was towed from the scene, and at the police department Price declined to submit to a breath test.

He was charged with OVI and released to a sober person.
