Gary Phelps, 73 of North Lewisburg, Ohio passed away, on May 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. 

Gary was born on April 23, 1951, in Columbus, OH to Robert and Alice (Ferryman) Phelps.

Gary retired from Siemens in Bellefontaine after 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed spending time in the yard, planting flowers, watching TV with his little dog, Buddy, and horse racing. Gary was a good man, husband, father, and grandfather to his family. His advice and guidance will be deeply missed by all.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stephanie Phelps; daughter Krista (Travis) Davis, grandsons, Vincent “Vinny” Phelps, Jesse Phelps, Ryan Davis; great granddaughter, Allison “Alli” Phelps – his Best Girl; sisters, Judy Jackson, Linda Rutan, Alicia (Carl) Davis; brothers, Dennis (Chris) Phelps, Steven (Connie) Phelps, Douglas (Amelia) Phelps; brother-in-law, Larry Longberry; sister-in-law, Peggy Ocano, Anita Garrison, Denise (Jerry) Smallwood and good friend John Cummins; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Phelps; grandson, Jacob Phelps; sisters, Sharon Longberry, Pamela Spain; brother-in-law Mike Garrison, Armondo Ocano; sister-in-law Deborah Moore; as well as brothers-in-law, Dan Spain and Paul Rutan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, in Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, in North Lewisburg, Ohio. 

Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor John Instine officiating.

Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice.
