Gary A. Houchin, 63, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born in Kenton, Ohio on April 19, 1960, to Gerald N. Houchin and the late Severiana Maria “Ann” Houchin.

On August 26, 2006, he married the former Lisa Slusser and she survives in Belle Center.

He is also survived by his siblings: Kathy (Chris) Fulkerson, Susan (Tim) O’Rielley, Tony (Tammy) Houchin, and Diane (Mark) Coleman; his mother-in-law, Mary White; many nieces and nephews; and his family out west.

Gary was a hard worker and always kept busy whether he was out working in the yard or wood working. He had a love for antiques and was an avid sports fan, supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He was a loving and loyal husband, brother, and son. He was a 1978 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and worked at SpartanNash for over 30 years.

Per Gary’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be an inurnment arranged at a later date.
