Fundraiser uplifts Brandyberry family

The Riverside Junior High Student Council members raised money this month to benefit Brandyberry family. A total of $230 was donated to the family through the sale of candy canes and anonymous donations. The Brandyberry family lost their daughter, Riverside senior Makayla Brandyberry, to cancer Oct. 29. Now Makayla’s brother, Braden Jenkins, is currently hospitalized, recovering from serious injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Nov. 29. Student council members sold candy canes during their lunch the week of Dec. 4. Staff and students were able to purchase the candy canes and have them delivered to a friend.
