Four people, including a young child, were hospitalized as a result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 9 a.m., Monday, Aug. 5, at the intersection of County Road 18 and Township 200 in Harrison Township.
No one was seriously injured, but both drivers and a passenger in each vehicle were taken to Mary Rutan Hospital, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Tabitha Gilbert, 31, of Bellefontaine, was stopped at the stop sign facing westbound at T.R. 118 at the intersection of C.R. 18 when she reportedly pulled into the path of John Morgan, 53, of Bellefontaine, traveling southbound on C.R. 18. The 2009 black Honda CR-V Gilbert was driving struck the front of the 2023 white Toyota Camry that Morgan was operating.
Impact from the collision sent the CR-V off the road and into a guardrail. The Camry came to a stop in the eastbound lane of T.R. 200.
Gilbert and a two-year-old passenger each were transported from the scene by Macochee EMS. Morgan, and a passenger, Luann McBeth, 68, of Bellefontaine were taken by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.
Gilbert was cited for failure to yield the right of away. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which had to be towed from the scene. The intersection was closed for over three hours.
