A former Bellefontaine City Schools administrator and teacher has passed away.
Jackie Kellogg, 86, of Bellefontaine, died on Saturday, March 22.
Mrs. Kellogg was a teacher at BCS from 1969 to 1978. She then served as an administrator in the district from 1978 to 1996.
Jackie was a beloved educator who will be forever remembered for her unconventional teaching style. She inspired hundreds of children to read books by taking on challenges, which included wearing roller skates around the school hallways.
Upon retirement, Jackie was honored with a scholarship in her name, which is a lasting legacy of her devotion and passion for education.
She is survived by five children: Kim (Jeff) Martin, Kathy (Kevin) Berg, Robert (Richard) Kellogg, Chris (Judy) Kellogg, and Kelly (Larry) Pool along with 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Jackie also leaves behind her brother, John (Nancy) Hofmann and sister, Jan (Howard) Lambert.
Jackie was married to Bob Kellogg for 60 years. He preceded her in death in December 2017.
Arrangements are being handled by Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
