A teenager was charged for drinking alcohol underage by officers of the Bellefontaine Department after her father reported around 11 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, that a named male suspect had been supplying liquor to her.

Macy Roth 19, of West Liberty, was reportedly visibly upset and angry with her father for taking her to the lobby of the police department and reporting to officers that a named male suspect had been seeing the teen and providing her 99 Brand alcohol.

Brian Roth told police that his daughter’s drinking had become a recurring problem and had even led to her leg being in a cast after Macy jumped off a roof.

Macy admitted to police she had jumped off a roof while drinking and injured herself. She also conceded to police that she’d been drinking in the hours prior to being brought in to the police department. She told police she’d been driven to drink by her father, who is too controlling and doesn’t let her do what she wants to do.

Macy was issued a summons for underage consumption. Police also intend to follow up with the male suspect.
