Apple cider and caramel lattes. Stores dressed in orange and red and yellow. Pumpkins everywhere. Regardless of the weather, that’s the autumn vibe you’ll find as you Fall In Love with Bellefontaine this Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Maddie Stotler, downtown event coordinator, this new sip and shop day is a chance to get out and enjoy Bellefontaine as we head into the fall season.
“We want to get people in stores and encourage them to support local businesses,” Stotler said. “We hope the community will make a day of it.”
The day will start off with free yoga on the courthouse lawn at 9 a.m. Afterward, you’ll find downtown stores and coffee shops featuring fall treats and refreshments. And, since this is reminiscent of Bellefontaine’s former art and wine walk, select stores will offer wine for tasting while you shop.
Though the weather might not be particularly autumn-inspired, Stotler hopes it will still give off that fall aura.
“It’s a Gilmore Girl-type of day, a chance to get into the smalltown fall spirit,” she admitted. “The fall vibe is a mindset, and I feel we’re all prone to that. The businesses are ready. I think the people are ready too.”
