Evelyn May Wingfield

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Evelyn May Wingfield. She passed away peacefully at home at the age of 105 on Jan. 10, 2023. 

Born May 27, 1917, near Tremont City. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Gladys (Lee) Faulkner. A member of New Beginnings Church (Boulusville United Methodist Church), and a member of Elizabeth M. Hood order of Eastern Star for over 70 years. 

Evelyn was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She enjoyed cooking, family history, genealogy, traveling, coloring pictures, and doing word searches. Most of all, she loved spending time with and caring for her family. 

Evelyn is survived by her son Edwin Lee Wingfield, and daughter Shirley (Rodney) Pullins, both of Springfield, Ohio; son-in-law, Dwight Pullins of Urbana. Grandchildren: Aaron (Patty) Thomas, Jill Thomas, Steve Smith, Steve (Cindy) Wingfield, Wes (Vikki) Wingfield, Eddie A. Wingfield, Jodie (Little) Beaver, Cindy (Duane) Thomas, Mindy (Ken) Adkins, Shelly (Bryan) Baughman, Tiffany (Terry) Harvel, Amber Pullins and Dale Pullins; 27 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 67 years, Edwin B. Wingfield; sisters Dorothy (Don) Wingfield, Eileen (Herb) Williams; brothers Herman (Mildred) Faulkner and Raymond Faulkner. Daughters, Jeannine (Bill) Thomas-Smith, Becky Pullins and daughter-in-law, Bobbi Wingfield; as well as her granddaughter, Vickie Smith. 

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks for all the care she received at home on Hospice Care. Especially Jeanne Creviston, Katie Zerkle, and Jo Monroe. You made her passing peaceful and dignified. She loved you all! 

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, January 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with her funeral immediately following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray Branstiter officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Oak Dale Cemetery.
