Euanna Mae (Davis) Herndon, 100, of Jackson Center, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Ohio Living Dorothy Love Nursing Home in Sidney, Ohio. She was born at home outside of Maplewood, Ohio on July 7, 1922, to the late Joe and Ruth (Glick) Davis.
On February 28, 1941, she married Richard L. Herndon in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her sisters: Ruby Greiwe and Gertrude Clinehens and her brother, Eugene Davis.
She is survived by her children: Timothy Herndon of Jackson Center, Ohio, Sherry (Frank) Faulder of Quincy, Ohio, David (Cindy) Herndon of Jackson Center, Ohio, and Valerie Mitchell of Lakeview, Ohio; 10 grandchildren: Gail, Amy, Holly, Danielle, Ginger, Noah, Joel, Benjamin, Wesley, and Travis; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Euanna enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. She was a seamstress, sewing many things including dolls and her granddaughter’s wedding dress. She loved to bake cakes and would always host family celebrations and holidays. She was a very involved member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. She was also a member of the Jackson Center American Club and the Sunshine Garden Club.
Pastor Shelly Schultz will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 607 South Main Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334, and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service in Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
